Sorting Rows
Rows in the List Windows can be sorted alphabetically, based on any single column, and also on multiple columns.
To sort the rows by a single column, do one of the following:
- Click on the required column header. A second click on the same column header reverses the sort order.
The triangle shown in the header acts as a sort column indicator.
- Right-click on the required column header and select Sort Ascending or Sort Descending.
To sort rows based on multiple columns
- Right-click on any column header and select Multicolumn Sort...
This displays the Multicolumn sort properties dialog, which contains one row named sort by.
- In the Column field, select the first column to start sorting by, using the drop down list.
A second row appears named then sort by.
- Select a second column in the Column field for the then sort by row. The drop down list will contain only the remaining columns.
- Repeat this step to add further columns to define sorting properties.
- In the Direction field, select Ascending, or Descending, to set the sort order for each column separately.
