Common Client-Side Problems and Solutions

You may have problems starting an application that are related to Licensing. This section describes common issues and their solutions.

Version Not SupportedThe license file/server does not support this version of the feature.
Invalid HostThe host ID of this system does not match the host ID specified in the license file, the license for feature <feature_name> is not valid for this host ID, or an issue exists with the hardware key.
Vendor Daemon is Too OldThe version of the application being run requires a newer license server (lmgrd/mgcld).
No License for the FeatureNo license was found for the feature, no such feature exists, or the license server does not support this feature.
Cannot Connect to the License ServerThe application cannot connect to the license server.
Application Slow to LaunchThe application takes a long time to launch or open a project.
License Request FailureThe license request for a feature failed.
Cannot Acquire a LicenseEither all licenses for the feature are in use, not enough licenses are available for the feature, all licenses are in use and a request has been entered in all queues, or the license for the feature is not available yet and will return in nnnn seconds.
License Expiration NoticeLicenses will expire in nnn days.
Server/Client Connection LostLost server/client connection for <feature_name>; attempt nnn in progress.
License Request DenialLicense request denied because of MGLS include/exclude lists.
Licenses for the Feature are UnavailableAll <feature_name> licenses are in use, and queuing is disabled.
Package Information File Does Not Have the Requested LicenseThe requested license ID is not in the package information file (mgc.pkginfo).
(Linux only) Unable to Start mgls_asynchThe mgls_asynch license process could not start.
